Feed mill and silos

Feed formulation and silo management for your own mill

If you mix your own feed, Chickensystem follows it all the way: raw materials in, recipes, what was produced, which house silo it went to, and what the hens actually ate.

Recipes in kilograms per ton

Each recipe lists kilograms per ton of corn, soy, limestone, premix and the rest, and must add up to 1,000 kg. Recipes carry an age range for the flock they are meant for. A change creates a new version, so earlier productions keep the recipe they actually used.

Feed mill: raw materials, feed produced and distributed, stock differences

Production against plan

For every production the mill records the recipe and the tons made. Chickensystem works out the expected use of each raw material and puts it next to the actual use where it was weighed. Differences above your limit are marked in red.

Silos filled and weighed

Feed is distributed to the silos of each house and the silos are weighed on a schedule — for example every morning at 07:00. Each weighing turns into feed eaten per house and day, and grams per hen. A scale computer can send the weights automatically.

Stock you can trust

  • Raw material receipts in kg or tons, with supplier, vehicle and a photo of the delivery note
  • Raw material and feed stock, calculated and counted
  • Feed per hen and feed per egg for the whole farm
  • Mill staff see the silos they fill, without access to the rest of the house data

Frequently asked questions

Do recipe changes affect earlier figures?

No. A change creates a new version; every production keeps the version that was used that day.

Can our silo scales report automatically?

Yes. A scale computer can send weights through an integration; they are recorded like a manual weighing.

What if a silo weighs more than expected?

The difference is booked as an adjustment so that stock stays correct, and it is visible in the history.

Can we use only this part without the houses?

Yes. A company can consist of a feed mill alone — see our page for feed mills.
